Hey
I have a solid prefab wall that I want to open up and install an exterior door (garage). The wall is 3 m between two doors. In the middle of the wall is a 175 x 45 for load-bearing support. Everything is on the long side, so the trusses are in that direction. Above the doors, I have really solid glulam beams and top plates all around. I'm thinking of installing 2 upright studs so that the frame fits in before I remove the central stud, which, as mentioned, is where I want my exterior door. This is a new build, so I'm observing and pondering every day as I'm working on pulling electrical conduits.
Or am I completely off track with my thoughts?
Very grateful for a response!
