Need to install fresh air vents in the children's room, but space is limited. Is it OK to almost cut the lintel above the window to make a mounting hole for the new fresh air vent? Fresh 80 is the most compact vent I have found apart from frame vents, which would be good if the molding didn't go so far down over the window frame... Need advice on getting fresh air (without pollen) into the boys' room without having to hire a drilling company, as our house is made of brick except just above the windows, where there's a panel a short distance above. But then I have to use a hole saw and essentially cut off the lintel above the windows, or???

If the kortling is above the window, it can probably be removed - no load can/should be placed on top of a window...

Incidentally, no drilling company is needed to drill in brick/Leca/lightweight concrete, but it is needed for pure concrete!
