Unsure which forum this fits in, but has anyone tried/experienced cutting Elfa (or Pelly/Lundbergs) wire shelves to make them narrower? Mainly want clean cuts, so angle grinder is out. ;)
Tips/ideas are welcome!

What do the shelves look like?
Is it the depth or the length that is wrong?

Maybe wire cutters and a file!

I have cut it to length. Used a jigsaw with a metal saw blade. In my case, the end is not visible, it's inside a closet.

If it is the length (width) that needs to be shortened, a hacksaw blade works perfectly, I have sawed off 16 shelves. I have even notched out a shelf.

Here's what the shelves look like:
Metal wire shelves needing resizing for a renovation project, showing sections to be cut shorter for a perfect fit.

The shelves are too "wide" today. They need to be 3-4 cm "shorter," so about 1-2 sections need to be cut off.

But hacksaw and jigsaw metal blade will be tried, and also metal blade for the multi-tool. Just need to try to put together a template/jig so I get straight and neat edges!

Any saw with a metal blade. Jigsaw, hacksaw, or reciprocating saw. Just make sure it doesn't get too hot so the paint melts. Hacksaw works really well. There isn't much to cut, and you get good control over the sawing.

I find the multitool a bit too aggressive for cutting metal. It's easy to get stuck, causing everything to start vibrating instead.
