Crack in balcony floor

I discovered a continuous crack in the balcony at my parents' place. Is there a risk of it collapsing? It looks like the crack is located right at the seam where the balcony appears to be extended.

Yes, it is unlikely to come loose..........they will just disintegrate and become hazardous that way. What you can do is seal the cracks so that water doesn't seep in.

On Wikipedia, it said that the houses were renovated between 1997 and 2002.

I'm not trying to be overly pessimistic, but I think it looks a bit concerning if it's right at the seam between two castings.

But it also depends on how it looks under the balcony. Can you get a photo from there?

If your parents have a similar balcony above, take a picture of that too.

If there is a beam supporting both the new and old balcony, then the crack is likely mostly cosmetic. Otherwise, you might advise them to bring in someone who can examine it on-site.
