We have a lot of blasted rock and fill material that we need to get rid of. We have considered using the blasted rock to build a retaining wall and fill the ground behind the wall to create a terrace where we can have a patio (see the red marking on the image). We want the terrace to extend along the entire short side of the house because it provides the most evening sun. This means that we will cover parts of the brick-clad facade facing the basement in our house, which is built on a slope. I thought about placing insulating drainage boards against the wall to provide some ventilation for the wall. I hope that the basement walls, which are otherwise made of aerated concrete blocks, do not contain any organic material. Is it reasonable to assume that? Additionally, I wonder how the sill is placed in houses of this type (built in 1959), according to the red marking or the blue marking?
