Cost to demolish 2 large barns with asbestos roofs
We are looking into buying a property with associated barns. The barns are old, dilapidated, and have asbestos cement roofs and above all, they are gigantic. I would estimate 10x40 m per barn. I tried googling what it might cost to demolish, but it's difficult to find estimates. Has anyone done something similar and can help me with the estimation?
For the asbestos, we recently removed a roof, paid about 100k for 300m2 demolition + disposal (already had scaffolding in place)Petter Höglander said:

As an individual, I never believe you can earn more money in any other job than this one.
A disposable coverall that is thrown away, a good face mask.
Take down, wrap in plastic, and take to the dump.
Not a difficult job, not a job that requires great strength or any special skill, just a simple dirty job that companies charge an incredibly high price for.

As a reference, the roofing and remediation company wanted 100,000 and 72,000 respectively to take down and remove the asbestos from my 190 sqm gable roof.

The only right thing is for the one who placed these over 1000 m² of asbestos roofs to also take them down and remove them, dead or alive. The right time of year to take a trip to the cemetery and search for ghosts.
I say the same as argastesnickarn. Think carefully and be cautious, and buy an expensive and good rubber mask with an extra fine cartridge filter. Disposable coveralls and rubber boots. Wash the clothes you have underneath before bringing them into the house afterward.
As for the barns, you should go through them and see if they are really that dilapidated. Often it's enough to put on a new cheap corrugated metal roof and spend a few tens of thousands of kronor on structural and facade repairs, and then an old rickety outbuilding can last another 70 years.
The total cost may be somewhere around five hundred kronor per square meter with a little luck plus a bit of your own work. Try building something new for that price.
Large outbuildings are very useful later when cars, boats, tractors, and firewood need to be stored under a roof. If you or a descendant want to start a business, it's much easier to get going if there are cold storage spaces available. Many have been saved from eternal dependency on benefits by being able to start a business in grandpa's old barn, allowing them to start up with less capital.
Otherwise, you can usually rent out boat storage or caravan storage in old outbuildings and earn a decent extra income from it.

Personally, I would never tear down a barn; what's built can be repaired.
What's the condition of the roof, and why should it be demolished?
Not only I but many others need spaces under a roof.
But if it has to be demolished, you can tear down and dispose of the roof yourself, then an excavator can do the rest and pack it into containers, provided it can't be burned this winter.
Good luck
