I'm new to the forum and want to take the opportunity to say hi to all house enthusiasts!
My partner and I are currently building a house and have gotten as far as pouring the concrete slab. Unfortunately, a problem has arisen in connection with the pouring of the slab, and I'd like to know how big the problem is, what consequences it may have, and your knowledge and experiences on how to solve the problem in a good way.
We have chosen to deviate from the standard drain in the bathroom, meaning a circular drain in the middle of the shower area, to a shower channel along the wall.
The problem is that the construction manager forgot to update the drawings for the craftsmen in connection with the pouring and therefore didn’t prepare with styrofoam in the area around the drain, as I understand is done when installing such a drain (Purus Pro Line). Additionally, the drain is incorrectly placed; it's a standard drain (round in the middle of the shower area).
This was discovered immediately in connection with the pouring, and the construction manager and the person responsible for inspections have assured me that this happens sometimes and can be solved without complications. They have already partially removed a section of the slab (where the styrofoam should have been).
What are your experiences? How do you technically fix something like this in a good way? Is it about carefully taking a fine chisel and manually chiseling out all the pipes, wiring, and reinforcement to avoid damage?
