Concrete slab flooring makes a quieter house?!
My husband and I are going to build a house with a basement and a prefab wooden upper floor. Typically, such houses are built with wooden joists, but we have considered pouring the floor slab between the floors to achieve a quieter and more solid house. This will naturally be more expensive, but do you think it's worth the money? Does anyone have experience or opinions on the matter?

Btg is great for soundproofing. With a 200 mm thick btg floor, it's really great. Then it depends on what you put on top. Lightweight btg is not the best in my opinion, yeah, maybe it's okay for patching holes or building walls with it.
And casting a 200 mm floor costs a lot if you are setting up the form yourself... it requires a number of props and things. Of course, you can rent beams and form boards. So the cost becomes more efficient with btg. The downside is the drying time, which is about 2-3 months for double-sided drying...
