One vertical rule per side. If you use something like 45x120 or similar with the narrow part against your mounting, you have 120mm of fresh wood to insert the two screws you have on each side and don't have to worry about this. Thinner wood might work but then you're starting to have thinner timber for your wood screws. Then I might have made the wall mount up towards a meter high with at least 4 fixings where either such a plug I suggested before or the longer version that someone else mentioned works. The chin-up mount roughly in the middle or on the lower half so you have a large lever arm against the forces that may pull the mount perpendicular to the wall.
Great, I'll go for that. Thank you very much for the detailed description! :)

What holds best is aerated concrete screws. Plugs work very well for concrete but not for aerated concrete. Especially not for something that will be pulled on. The hole will enlarge and the rod will come loose. There is no other good option unless you start messing with anchor compound.

Just screw in without pre-drilling, gently at the end so you don't tighten too hard and damage the aerated concrete. Done, it doesn't get simpler than that.

Best regards, owner of aerated concrete.
