Hello dear byggahus members.
Recently bought a lyher scaffolding on
Blocket.
The scaffolding is in pretty good condition and still made of rust-free galvanized steel.
Currently stored in the garage but will soon be out on a pallet at the corner of the lot under a tarp.
Question 1.
On the construction parts, it's quite dirty with mortar and such, best cleaning tips?, can you use a pressure washer and possibly steam cleaning? Is it safe to use a steel brush or does it do more harm than good?
Question 2.
It will be visibly but somewhat cramped on the lot. Should I still lock the parts together with a chain or is that overkill? Small parts like feet and connections will remain in the garage.
Thanks in advance for the answers and engagement.

Strap a piece of metal sheet above instead; paradoxically, everything under tarps gets moisture-damaged as there's no ventilation under tarps. Ground moisture that evaporates in there has no opportunity to air out.O Oeldling said:
Prevent ground moisture with a tarp on the ground. Roof airy on top, like TP20-sheet metal. Chain, absolutely! I also lock mine when it's mounted with 10 bicycle chain locks from Abus. I can't think of any way to remove mortar that doesn't simultaneously risk damaging the galvanization. Unless it's completely unreasonable, I would let the mortar stay. It will probably fall off eventually.
Great, thanks for the answer. How do you secure the planes themselves? They will be placed on 2x2 EP pallets.mattiasp said:
