What experiences do you have with ceilings, price, quality, and what is easy to install? Facing the choice, should have panels only in the living room upstairs. Otherwise, some sheet material. Plaster? Pre-painted or not?

I have regular drywall on the ceiling and sure, it's a bit of a task to spackle and paint, but it can definitely look nice if you put some effort into it.

Just ordered smooth paneling 14x145 to be painted white. It's going to look really nice. Recommended.

Huntonit Classic. White painted smooth/beveled panel. I think it looks nicer than a smooth ceiling.

The thing is, you have to think a bit LATERALLY.... Like several steps ahead and try to envision the finished result before you've even bought anything.

Very difficult to determine here which would look best for you, just a thing like how you lay panels, boards, etc., can completely change the character of a room....

Post some pictures if you want, so we can at least see a bit....
