Anyone know where to find cheap metal studs? Considering using metal studs to lower the ceiling but the price difference compared to regular 45x45 studs shouldn't be too large.

Hornbach also has good prices on metal studs.

If you have a good price with a local dealer, you might get it even cheaper, but [link]

But isn't it difficult to screw up such a stud, must constantly be screwed at an angle?
Either you have a special tool that cuts and folds the sheet metal through the studs.

Or you screw with countersunk screws and let the gypsum board cover over. With a 13mm gypsum or osb+gypsum it will still be even.

My point exactly!

In terms of price, wooden studs may be cheap, but if you need to suspend a ceiling more than the normal stud thickness, a frame of edge profiles followed by steel profiles is wonderfully quick to work with. The speed and precision naturally come at a higher material cost. If you need to suspend and have electricity, pipes, ventilation, etc., I would undoubtedly use steel studs. If it's just a bit of VP that needs to be installed for downlights or similar on a previously straight ceiling, wooden studs
