Hello!

We currently have a plastered 1950s house that now needs to be looked over. The plaster has come off in some places, and it seems difficult to find people who are skilled at plastering.

If we repair certain areas, we will likely need to repaint the whole house so it doesn't look like a patchwork. Since we don't really like the rough style of the plaster, it feels unnecessary to spend a lot of money repainting a plaster we don't really like. Now to my questions:

What is cheapest:

Replaster the entire house?

Install siding?

Are there other cost-effective alternatives? Steni panels, etc.?

Grateful for an answer!

Best regards,

Tommy

Had also refurbished the house earlier. Switched to vertical paneling that was slurried black. Have not regretted the change for a second.

OK

Did you have to remove all the plaster or did you put the paneling over it?

We are renovating our house right now. It will probably cost around 100k after rot, but there are a lot of damages.

If you don't like the rough plaster you have now, it can be smoothed to feel as soft as a baby's bottom.

Paneling is probably cheaper, but in my opinion more boring.

I should add that we are replastering everything. I think it will be cheaper to just do repairs than to use paneling.

Braced and insulated directly on the plaster.

What did you insulate with? Västkustskiva or something like that?

No, just regular 45mm insulation.
