As I understand it, the ceiling height of a normal interior ceiling should be 240 cm. As I wrote earlier, we plan to install new ceilings of beadboard but avoid tearing down the old ceiling, and inevitably this means that the ceiling height from having been about 241 now becomes about 237-238. Does anyone have any opinions on this??

A few centimeters here and there I can't imagine make any difference. It would have been one thing if you were going to lower the ceiling by 15-20cm to put in spotlights.

It doesn't matter at all if the ceiling height is 236, 237, or 240 cm.

2.37 is ok.
2.35 is NOT ok. Then you won't fit full-height wardrobes. They are 2.36

/mats who has 2.35 ceiling height due to a carpenter who took their own initiatives.........

Ok...I'll change my post.... ;)

Make another edit so that you can slide the side panels into place ;)

Perhaps not relevant in this case, but with new construction, you should rather have, for example, 2.42 than 2.39. Not fun having to cut every wall panel by 1 cm... :P

3-4cm doesn't have much significance.... Except to ensure that wardrobes fit, as Mats said. :)
