CC on sparse in sloping ceiling?
We are going to install wall plasterboard (1200x2500) on a sloped ceiling (38 degrees) and will use 45x45 battens. We're wondering whether to space the battens at cc300 or cc600? We are going to insulate between the battens, so cc600 would be the most convenient. =)
why not alternate trusses with 45x95 and then lattice, so you get the desired thickness.

nail onto the rafters with 2"2" or 2"4" on edge and you'll get more insulation. With 2"4", just use nail plates on the side.
then space with 28x70 on 30 cc.

Hi! I'm working on the same thing and wondering how to do it.
I've already installed horizontal 45 battens in the sloping ceiling to create an installation layer and break thermal bridges, etc.
The questions are piling up; will it hold to install ceiling panels at cc60? Should one use ceiling gypsum board? Should OSB be used in the sloping ceiling to compensate for the high center distance? Should wood paneling be installed in the sloping ceiling, and is cc60 sufficient then?
I've come so far that it's not really the time to redo and install battens...

I can announce that I'm using 45x45 with cc30 now. It probably would have been just as good to skip the installation kit in the slanted ceiling, as it would have been much easier to put up spacing, the 45s are long and often warped. But it feels good to have a little extra insulation in the ceiling, it's 195+95+45, but as I said, it probably would have been just as good with 195+120. Now I know for next time how much extra work it is!
