I'm considering installing a gypsum ceiling in our small cottage in the woods and using furring strips (28x70) seems more or less necessary (there were previously tongue and groove boards directly on the trusses).
In the room where we intend to install the gypsum ceiling, there are 6 trusses with varying centers (88, 85, 85, 85, 72). I've read that for a gypsum ceiling, the furring strips should be at CC30 when the trusses are at CC120. Since I have shorter distances between the trusses, should I still use CC30 or can I go with CC40? Or is CC30 still recommended to ensure the gypsum doesn't sag? The plan is to install 120-boards so both centers would work.
I have created two drawings of what it should look like considering the room's dimensions and the truss placement (trusses brown, furring strips beige):
Anyone skilled is welcome to draw out or describe how I should lay the gypsum boards - in what pattern and with which attachment points!
I'm considering installing a plaster ceiling in our small cabin in the woods, and using furring strips (28x70) becomes more or less a requirement (there were tongue and groove boards directly on the rafters before).
In the room where we plan to install the plaster ceiling, there are 6 rafters with varying CC (88, 85, 85, 85, 72). I read that for a plaster ceiling, the furring strips should be on CC30 when the rafters are on CC120. Since I have shorter distances between the rafters - is it still CC30 that applies or can I go with CC40? Or is it maybe CC30 regardless to prevent the plaster from flexing? The plan is to install 120-panels so both CC would work.

Those handy with tools are welcome to sketch out, or describe, how I should lay the plaster panels - in what pattern and which fixing points!
If you don't plan on using a sheet lift, I recommend narrower plasterboards.
Considering that a 1200 board costs as much (if not less than) both 900 and 600 (where I'm looking), I'll probably rent a lift, or alternatively cut it 😀 Also fewer seams to fill and deal with, I think. What width have you used?

Don’t forget spacing or joint profile on the short ends when you mount the gypsum.
Ah thanks! I hadn't really thought about that (and none of the DIY guides I've read so far have mentioned it either). However, I'm not quite sure why it's necessary - would you care to elaborate? I suppose I will screw the short side of the gypsum into the spacing - or do you mean because the roof truss is a bit away from the wall?
I was thinking something like this, every 30th centimeter on the short side and every 20th on the long side.
The spacing I was planning to buy is 4.2 meters, and the width of the room is 4.25, so I have 5cm less spacing than the room width. Is it better to have 2.5cm free on each side, or to allocate it to one side? Also, how much space should I have between the first spacing and the long side of the room?
