Oh my goodness. I don't think this was particularly good. As usual with threads like these, one wonders about the term "craftsman." It's a fairly broad concept, and I perceive it as encompassing everyone who has held a hammer all the way to Paul Sellers. Or had pants with material pockets.

Based on the photos, I guess you haven't had a carpenter with you. By carpenter, I mean a person who performs carpentry work with a bit of passion. Why I use the word passion is because I believe it is a key component in craftsmanship. There must be some percentage of passion to have the drive to want to do it well.

What you list and show with pictures doesn't indicate a desire to do it well.

I'm curious about your craftsman! And as you are already pointing out, all your points need to be addressed..
It's a company and they should be trained in carpentry, but I choose not to name names to avoid causing trouble..

Thanks for the response! The floor was laid in the fall, almost 1.5 years ago. What is happening now is finishing work, fixing sloppiness. I read somewhere that the distance between the floor and the wall should be determined based on the size of the floor area, not sure what is correct, but anyhow the distance should still be the same along a connected stretch, I think.
Correct that it is the room's width that determines, but 10mm is the minimum distance that should be maintained to fixed objects. (The distance should thus be >9mm)

Thanks again! Lesson for the future: keep track of which instructions to follow. Keep track of ...everything. :)

I usually don't like comments like the one I'm about to write now.
But throw them out, those screws in the floor/threshold make me so incredibly provoked and it testifies to a completely nonexistent understanding and interest in the work that it's insane.

If the person who did that work is a carpenter, I think they should look for something else to do during the day instead of going around ruining things for others. They completely lack both knowledge, skill, and not least professional pride.

I will report back about the work to them. We'll see how everything turns out.

Time to introduce some kind of government regulatory agency so we can avoid all the contractors who do downright lousy jobs.

Considering how it looks with the threshold, I would suspect everything that person has done.
Don't pay a krona before they fix it.
If it's a slightly larger company, call directly and tell them that idiot shouldn't fix this, and they need to send someone else.

This is how the door behaves. It also flexes a bit. Do you need to adjust the floor, or is it enough to fix the door, I wonder?

You'll probably scratch the floor if you keep doing that.

I know, we always have a basket or slippers or another "landmark" there to stop the door. A bit impractical. I don't know if it's the door or the floor that needs fixing or even where to start. I thought the handyman would fix it but unfortunately, that didn't happen.

I would NEVER have accepted this. NEVER. This is not a craftsman who did this..

The screw for the dishwasher… is usually screwed upwards, but if the screw has to go on the side, you might want to consider a spacer or something similar.

The screws in the threshold look like a hut someone built...

That someone can leave it like this, whether or not they are a craftsman, is impossible for me to understand.

How many people get help and end up with a mess because someone botched it, one can wonder...

Then he banged the threshold so that the paint was scraped off. Then you have to paint afterwards….
