I have simply installed risers on our existing rafters, built corresponding "short walls" between them, and in this way created an extra box over the entire space. Put drywall everywhere inside. Driven wedges into the sparse panel to which the ceiling is nailed and sealed all joints to make it as tight as possible.

So basically wooden boxes (MDF/OSB?) with interior drywall?
What do other electrical experts say about it?

Yes, you could say that. My "boxes" are probably around 120 x 120 cm and 25 cm high. The main thing is that it's gypsum on the inside, and well sealed.
