I have replaced the plastic in the wall (70s house) and this is how it turned out:

As you can see, I have put tape on the adjacent wall and ceiling because I couldn't tuck the plastic between the walls and ceiling as it was before. Is this an okay solution?

You can also see that I haven't put any tape at the top, and that's exactly how it was installed previously. I can add that no tape was used at all on the previous plastic.

OSB and then gypsum will be mounted on top of the plastic.
