Hello!

I have seen this kind of building gypsum, like cement gypsum, outside in a barn, not completely outdoors but still in a cold space with moisture... and they seem to hold up quite well. Can I use these boards as walls in my basement, do you think?! Without mold and moisture problems? And what kind of insulation should I use between them, can I put styrofoam between two boards?

Thanks

  • A cement board leaning against a metal frame, possibly used for construction or insulation purposes in damp environments.
  • Close-up of gypsum board edge with visible layers and slight damage, against a background with red and yellow areas, highlighting texture details.
  • A close-up view of cement gypsum boards installed in layers, with visible screws and a chipped edge, used in a cold, slightly moist space.
  • Photo of cement board panels potentially used for basement walls, questioning mold and moisture issues with foam insulation between two panels.
