It has come up before, and I recall it was said that they cannot be spliced without support under the splice. However, that was certainly 2 years ago. If it is not clear from their installation instructions (usually some information is available with the product on the byggmax website), I would assume they cannot be spliced without support. If you can figure out which manufacturer it is, there is usually detailed information on the manufacturer's website.
The flooring chipboard I bought from Byggmax last summer was not supposed to be joined without support underneath anyway, might be the case that they've changed supplier since then, but that should be relatively easy to check.

A complication is that there is no "Byggmax golvspån." The brand can vary. You need to check for the specific batch you intend to buy. But there are usually instructions included in the packages.
If I laid golvspån and a single cross joint ended up outside a joist, I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

Well, it's clear, I haven't checked what they charge for floor chipboard at the local builder's merchant, but I think it will be much more expensive. OSB is almost half the price at Byggmax compared to the local option.
I bought floor chipboard at Byggmax 3-4 years ago, and it was very "soft" in "consistency" when drilling and sawing into it. After a few months, I bought some more sheets to complete a place where the waste was a bit more than I anticipated. The new sheets were much harder and smoother on the surface and didn't match with the first ones I bought.andersmc said:
So unfortunately, they do change suppliers sometimes. I don't know if I was just unlucky and experienced their only supplier change or if it's something they do often.
My tip is, in any case, to buy all the floor chipboard you need at once, especially if they have low stock levels when you're buying.
Puhos floor chipboard is allowed to be joined without a joist underneath.
Byggmax did not allow it when I asked, they recommended I ask Beijer... (which doesn't even exist in the area)

magnu:The price at Beijer is per m², not per board like at Byggmax (99kr/board at Beijer).
Honestly though, the difference isn't that big when it comes down to it. I would pay more if it meant that you could (safely) splice outside the rule since the waste should compensate for the higher price.

Exactly. With a bit of bad luck, you might have to discard 55 cm of each sheet. 55 cm out of 180 is nearly a third, so the profit quickly disappears. Personally, I would never buy flooring boards that can't be joined outside the beams.v-g said:
