In the process of laying a new floor. Bought chipboards a few weeks ago at Byggmax, but they didn't have enough in stock, so I didn't get all I needed. Went there to buy more, as I saw the stock was replenished, but discovered they changed the type.

Is Byggmax's old type available somewhere?

Last time I shop there. Now it's Beijer instead, they always have the same type.

and have you determined that they differ then? I have probably assembled discs of different brands before without problems?

Yes. The old ones look like this:
Close-up of an old wooden panel edge; tongue and groove structure with equal width above and below the tongue.

The new ones look like this:
Old chipboard panels with even width above and below the tongue, showing structural differences from new panels.

That is, on the old one the board is equally wide above and below the tongue. But not on the new one.

I have honestly probably only seen the newer type regardless of brand. Is it golvspån the other at all?

Was strange.
I have bought flooring chipboard from byggmax now 5 times.
The first time was 3 years ago and I have only seen the new type that you show in the picture.
Other brands also have similar to the new one.
I have never seen the old type before.

I went to Beijers and bought boards there instead. Feels like better quality. And they don't change their range all the time.
