I have an I-beam in a newly constructed garage to support the loads over the garage door. The beam rests on the wall studs of the outer wall (170mm). It's about 2.40 m up to the underside of the steel beam from the floor. What I'm wondering is how I should enclose it?
I was thinking that you could simply frame it at 2.1 (the height of the garage door), then add drywall on the inside and cladding on the outside.
Or how should one do it? I need to be able to attach a metal sheet for the garage door along the entire steel beam, but underneath it.
I might be a bit unclear, but I can provide a picture if needed.
