Currently insulating and furnishing a sunroom. Beams with cc60, 195x45 in the floor. Crawl space foundation underneath (standing height). Lecablock on the walls. I have a couple of questions:

1. Planning to frame up with 45x45 wooden studs on the inside of the lecablocks. Between the blocks and the studs, paper will be installed for wind protection. Should there also be an air gap in between?

If so, how thick... and what's the best way to ensure that the insulation does not lie directly against the blocks?

2. In principle, can wood be placed directly against an outside wall of lecablocks? Will there be any thermal bridges? What happens if it pours rain directly on the blocks?

Not entirely sure about the construction, but some general answers below:

1.) Weather barriers are always on the outside of the wall, can consist of external gypsum, paper, fabric and are not found on the inside of the wall. Wind protection for Lecablocks is in the external plaster.

Insulation of Lecawall below ground is done on the outside of the wall, like Pordrän/Isodrän.
On the inside, you can have a maximum of 45 mm above ground directly against the blocks, no internal insulation below ground.

2.) Do you mean on the inside or outside of the wall?
On the inside, you should/must use metal studs. If it pours rain on the Leca, it is plastered and then it dries up, or do you mean having wood siding directly against the Lecawall?

2. I mean on the inside.

Why should you have metal studs on the inside? Is it because the wood absorbs moisture/cold?

Can you place a thin sheet of metal against the cinder block wall and then attach the stud to it? That way you don't have wood directly against the stone, but with metal in between.

(Have already bought wooden studs) :-/

Okay. I have acquired regular wall chipboard that will be installed first and then wall plasterboard. Then I can't attach it to the metal studs? Do I need to buy special stuff then? :-?

Different screws are required for metal studs, otherwise it's the same as for wood. However, considering the basement/below ground level, there might be other opinions on the choice of wall covering that I cannot answer.

There's a long thread about this....

The construction shall be above ground. But can't we cover the wooden beams with something then? So they don't absorb moisture?

Put something between the beam and the lecablocks?
