Very nice! Is there an edge the door closes against?

Thank you! Yes, I have screwed beams onto the vertical walls and an arched bow running in the vault, attached to the beams and with foam. If that's what you were thinking of?

  • Concrete arch with wooden beams secured with screws and foam in a construction project.

Exactly! I am very impressed by your build!

What type of concrete did you use and what kind of reinforcement did you have? I'm so darn eager to start building now :D:love:

Really nice! I'm also going to try something similar, but with a barred door and a lamp at the far end so it looks like a dungeon.
But a really impressive build(y):D
I can see your building permit application in front of me; dungeon / root cellar.

Building permit application? It's not necessary, is it?

Building permit application? That shouldn't be necessary, right?
Probably not, but just because...
It's like applying for a permit to demonstrate with the intention of overthrowing the government.

Used mortar from Byggmax and bistål also called murverksarmering in all courses. :)

Ok. Silly question, but did you use it in the vault as well?

Please tell us a little more about your build. Time spent, size, costs, etc.

Ok. Dumb question, but did you also run it in the vault?
Yep! Same setup throughout the whole construction!

Today the door was installed, primed.
Are you planning to have an inner door as well?
At my grandma and grandpa's root cellar, there were two doors. Between the doors, grandpa stacked straw bales so the temperature would be more consistent throughout the year. Warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.

We have a root cellar at the Cottage, and in it, we always keep a small stock of three or four buckets of Falu rödfärg standing. And in the summer, a case of soda and a crate of beer ;)

It will only be a "jordkällare". I think it's too small to get the right temperature and stuff. Just a fun thing like that.

Regardless of size, jordkällare are fun, agree!
