Could it qualify as a frigga if the area is less than 15 sqm?

Do you mean I could build a bunker at home on my property without a building permit?
Yes. It depends on the ceiling height and a lot of other factors, but you can do quite a bit underground without needing a building permit.

Sometimes one would want an undulating plot.

Still not so fun when the whole plot is filled with blast rock... :/

Couldn't resist posting a link to these incredibly skilled Mexican vault masons.

Form? Reinforcement? If you just have the craftsmanship then....

They probably would have finished your earth cellar during the coffee break, with the cup in the other hand. And blindfolded :D

I have been thinking about an earth cellar for a long time, but now I WANT an earth cellar too :(
I was thinking about this one:

I can't, of course, do masonry and let's hope it never happens, but how can I settle for a simpler version after the video?

TS, don't watch the video, I think you did a good job!

My God! That was truly unreasonable, how am I going to get my wife to let me try to make one like that?!?

Today the door was installed, with a primer. Tried something similar to slamming instead of plastering, we'll see if it holds... now I'm taking a break from the finishing touches, it still needs to be painted and a lock installed, etc.

  • White door in an earthy archway surrounded by rocks, located outdoors. The surrounding area has exposed soil and grass; door is primed and unstained.

Nice! I'm really inspired :D What are your thoughts on mice/rats etc. with the stamped floor? Is there any flooring that keeps them away? I'm tempted to build something similar but want to keep as much vermin away as possible.

Yes, tiles will be laid as the floor, and I'll also seal the door properly; right now it's just a layer of boards.

Looks great! I’m also going to try something similar but with a grill door and a light inside so it looks like a dungeon.
Really impressive build(y):D

But how lovely! In a few years it will look like it's been there since 1917 or so. Hopefully, you'll store weak beer and pilsner in it next summer.
