Hello

We have a basement staircase model deathtrap, and I've been thinking of making a new one.
My question is, what material would you use for the steps? I was thinking maybe
floor plywood or some other cheap material.

I've also considered buying, for example, countertops from IKEA to chop into steps...what tips do you have?

Hey Mike.

I would probably prefer aiming for countertops which should look nicer than plywood; cheapy has beech 26mm for 800:- per sheet, which should be enough for 6 steps. But it really depends on what budget you've set for it. What were you thinking for stringers, using existing ones or constructing new ones?
