Hello!

I'm planning to extend a small part of a cabin. I thought I'd make it easy on myself and not pour any concrete but instead place it on pillars. The floor will be framed with 170x45, what should I build the frame with that is easy to attach to a standard pillar?

THANKS

Place 45mm joist hangers (fixed or adjustable) in the plinths and use 195x45 as bearer beams.

Thank you!
So I attach joist hangers to the post anchor and place the joists for the frame there?
Are there ready-made joist hangers that fit into the post anchor's "gap"?

Hmm, do you mean pre-made plinths? Then they have a beam shoe cast in, which in your case (judging from the question) is not adjustable. The problem with pre-made plinths with cast-in beam shoes is that you have to manage to place them perfectly level using the spade, and it can be difficult!

The beam (bearing beam) is then placed in the beam shoes, and the joists are placed across.

How do I manage most smoothly with ready-made plintar and don't want to cast my own?

Yes, you... don't have a good answer for that. Buy pedestals with adjustable beam shoes? Otherwise, it might be a hassle. You have to dig holes for all the pedestals and then level and adjust each one individually by adding gravel in the hole or digging deeper. I have never tried it and would probably not do it either... :-/

Oops, I just noticed that you didn't want to cast :)
My solution described above assumes that you cast the joist hangers into the pillars.
As Bob describes, there are pre-cast pillars available for purchase - but it's hell to dig for them and adjust them to the correct height.
And I wouldn't just place a part of the house on something like leca blocks on the ground....:-/
