So now I have talked to the chimney sweep. He wants it to be built up with brick or lightweight concrete, at least 7 cm thick.

Very strange?

If I place the stove against the plaster as it is, it ends up at 10 cm, if I build a proper wall we are (7 + 5) 12 cm into the room. Plus surface treatment.

Edit: At Beijer they said Minerit would work perfectly...

Call and ask what your insurance company thinks, as they are the ones who ultimately decide if the wall behind was sufficiently fireproof if the house burns down. I recommend that you don't do anything until you have documentation of the construction that the insurance company has approved. I know it's a hassle, but you should probably do so...

Taking into account your insurance company's viewpoints is a good idea. However, one should be cautious about taking their comments as truths. They are not experts in building construction, and if it is only contact via phone, they might miss important details. (You find out about this if the insurance needs to be paid out)

Hello again, thanks for all the answers.

The stove will be placed 10 cm from an unprotected wall, as that is what it's approved for. It's that simple...

I'll put tiles underneath and set a wallpaper feature wall behind. The stove is an Attityd 100T if anyone is wondering.

(PS we're going with a different chimney sweep, have been warned about the municipal chimney sweep)
