If the chimney sweep has been and checked the chimney recently, he should be ashamed and definitely reimburse you for what that visit cost you:x
If you bring someone with a camera there, it's precisely to find such faults....

Going to remove the flue pipe today, but I thought yesterday it would be fun to see how it looks beforehand. So I rigged a GoPro camera along with a small flashlight which I then lowered down through the chimney. Found something just about 5 meters down:

Above this was a smaller stone sitting at an angle:

Had to make a small hole just above the floor on the upper level to remove these two.
Planning to seal the holes and remove the flue pipe later today.

I find it strange that the chimney sweep didn't mention these stones when he checked the flue with his camera. He should have seen them, shouldn't he?
Well, it's lucky you lowered a camera yourself, but it would be interesting to hear why you did that when you recently had the chimney sweep there to take photos?
Did you suspect from the start that he wasn't taking his task seriously?
If so, wouldn't you have alerted him on the spot? ;)

Call the chimney sweep and ask if he wants help inspecting his own flue from someone who actually inspects for real. Maybe you could offer him a course?

My own filming was done 2 days after the chimney sweep had been there.
Why? Well, curious by nature...
I was going to do the slip casting myself and wanted to see how it looked before, so I could compare a little before and after.
It was a stroke of luck that I checked, I would have had big problems if I had tried to pull the balloon through.

I lowered the camera once first without filming, the second time I lowered it, I filmed.
I find it hard to believe that I could have caused the stone to loosen during the first lowering...
Very strange that the chimney sweep didn't see this...

Now the stones are removed, and the holes are sealed.
The chimney has now been coated three times with mortar/plaster mix C and a final time with some tougher "ceramic mortar"
Looks good, I will film again in a few days when it has set.

Then it's time to install an inlet in the chimney, and then we can start building up the Tulikivi!
