Hello!
The kid is reaching the age for his own room, so we're going to close off the previously open floor plan and get a third bedroom.

We want to do it as cheaply as possible, but still stable and durable of course...

The previous owner tore down the wall and built an arch, half-arch where the door used to be.

What material choice would you recommend? Saw a lot of metal studs in new constructions when I worked as a fiber technician. Carefully assuming it was because it's simpler and faster, not cheaper?

Depending on how thick the wall is, it's probably easiest to just frame up with 45s or 70s. Then add insulation and drywall, possibly OSB.
