Hello

I need to remove a timber beam that will be in the way of a home theater construction.

I have made a quick sketch of how I think it is constructed based on what I can see. Could this be correct? It seems more logical if there was a beam under the left post from the attic.
How can this be done in a good way?

  • Drawing of house structure showing beams; discussion on replacing a beam obstructing home theater construction. Possible replacement with an I-beam.
  • Attic interior with wooden beams and furniture, featuring a diagram-like annotation of points A and B, related to timber beam removal query.
  • Room with wooden beam, white doors, shelves, and a ceiling light; large blue 'A' indicates a point of interest for renovation.
  • Ceiling with fluorescent light and a blue circle drawn over a section, shelves with items and a door in a room under renovation.
  • Interior room with a large wooden beam running through the center, surrounded by stored items and construction supplies on the floor.
Drawings are better than photos because they show the contexts better. If there are none, you have to make them yourself. Measurements are important, otherwise, you can't calculate it. Information about the year of construction is always interesting. Exterior photos often say more than interior ones.
