Hello! I'm in the process of renovating a partition wall in the house when I discovered this. It looks very much like black mold. My question is, is this something to be concerned about/worried about/address? A wall showing possible black mold on wooden beams with a moisture meter placed against it, part of a house renovation project discussion. Wooden floor and wall joint with visible black mold spots. The base plate is set in the floor, indicating construction conditions. No moisture or smell detected.
There is no smell and it is bone dry. I suspect an old infestation due to construction moisture from when the house was built.

The house, built in '73, is 1-story with a (heated) basement, and the floor between the basement and the living area is a cast vault. As seen in the pictures, the bottom plate is sunken into the floor. That is, the floors in the rooms were cast after the walls were erected.

Anyone have any opinions? How dangerous is what I've found? Is it enough to clean with a wire brush and vacuum, or is the advice to tear down the wall completely and start over from scratch?

Wipe clean with 20% Klorin in water and that should be good enough. The Klorin oxidizes the mold so that it's inactivated if there is any life present.
