Recently discovered that there are new (?) categories available in Biltema's app that I haven't seen before. They are, unusually, written in English even though the app is otherwise in Swedish with my settings:
Screenshot of Biltema app categories, displaying sections like "Build Material" with items listed in English, amidst primarily Swedish text, suggesting new additions.

The interesting part is that these are types of goods that, to my knowledge, have not been available at Biltema before. So far, there are no actual items under these categories, though. Are they preparing the app for new items that are not yet on sale?

Interesting! It would have been fun to see and compare their products with K-Rauta etc etc.

But it might also be that the app is developed by another company where the category and subcategories are used as an example and that someone at Biltema accidentally published it in connection with other changes.

If they start selling building materials, it will be the same suppliers as the regular building stores except possibly for a few products. Additionally, I find it hard to see where they would have the items in their stores without having to significantly rebuild/expand.

Possibly they might cut some part of the existing range that sells poorly, or if they'll just stick to the stores that have room for it? Who knows

Saw that the department store in Västerås has basically doubled in size. Haven't had a chance to look at what's happened with the selection, but it is quite a large department store now, in any case.

Car and construction theme. Granted, it was a long time ago it was only about cars.

A bit different today compared to when they had the store in a basement of a rental property in Linköping and only car parts, nostalgia:D

Well, the margin isn't that bad on building materials and they already have the purchasing organization and logistics in place.

It's just good to have more competition.

Oh, I had totally missed that. I hope they have made it easier to find what you're looking for.
