We are in the process of building a 25 sqm accessory dwelling unit with a loft.
But we have some questions about how the roof construction should look to maximize the ceiling height in the loft.
It's a shame to complain on a free forum about waiting 8 hours and then getting upset for not receiving an answer.
I find it hard to understand the question but I'm not a designer.
Plenty of nice pictures but it's difficult for me to form an opinion on what they are supposed to show.
The building height is causing problems. 4 meters is not much. It is measured from the ground surface. If you follow Marre's advice, you'll need to dig the slab down a meter into the ground. It will be a bit like going down into a cozy root cellar. If you do so, you'll get a loft with standing height. It has clear potential if you ask me. Fun with surprising solutions that no one expects. A turf roof makes the whole house disappear visually to open up when you step through the door. Exciting.
However, I really struggle with that boxy, wannabe architect-designed house. To me, it just looks like B. If so, it should be a truly expensive architect-designed house where everything follows a thread, or alternatively, a classic house.
