Written before but hoping for a response. Our stove is 9cm from the wall and we are planning to open up a bit more and redo the wall. In connection with this, we want to install something other than plaster. It says the stove should be installed 5-10 cm from the wall, but we want something that doesn’t get hot or emit anything harmful. What should we use then?

Something other than plaster? What and why?
Plaster isn't a surface itself and is always painted or wallpapered.

What is the goal of the renovation? a different appearance, the stove closer to the wall?

Then you need to have a large distance because everything gets hot when you heat it with the stove.
