Hello, I'm a new member here but I've been reading the forum for a couple of years and now it's time for some help. I need to replace the old swing gate with an overhead sectional door.
Garage width 8m and ceiling height 2570
Old door 2450x2430
New door 4000x2125
The entire garage is built with leca and the door will end about 0.5m from the door, there is a horizontal beam on the leca that is 45x195, and on top of that are the trusses made of 65x180.
So my question is, what reinforcement is required above the door?

Regards, Petri

  • Garage with open door being renovated, showing brick walls, ladders, and scattered construction materials. Sunlight casts shadows on the garage exterior.
  • Drawing on a wall showing measurements for garage door installation, including dimensions for new door, beam, and roof truss support with labels in Swedish.
  • Open garage with removed door. Various tools, boxes, and a tricycle inside. Ladder and trailer outside, and notes on the wall about new door dimensions.
New garage door panel installation in progress, showing a metal frame and green paneling with a horizontal wooden beam. Door to be completed next year.

Building project with new port panel installation nearing completion; ladder visible.

New garage door panel installation nearing completion with exposed wooden frame and electrical cable, only door replacement remaining for next year.

White garage with new paneling and lock, ladder leaning against it, surrounding cars. Nighttime scene, door renovation planned.

Finally starting to be finished, new gate panel and lid, etc. Only the door left and renovating next year.

Classic cars in a garage with scattered tools and materials, appearing disorganized but ready for a cleanup.

The cars etc. in place but still a bit messy, but it will be arranged.

Nicely done. That turned out well. Your portomfattning seemed to be generously sized.

Thought it would be just as well to build properly at once, worked hard on the garage for 6 months, it was an old private carpentry so they had laid wood flooring on the slab that I tore out, painted the exterior just the front left for next year, sold off 7-8 carpentry machines in the garage, +lots of timber etc. painted the ceiling walls floor inside and finally the biggest things are fixed, going to install a heat pump now and then there will be a little rest from the garage until spring.
