Beadboard - stored indoors

Hello!

I'm in the middle of installing beadboard in the summer house.

I opened the packages 3-4 weeks ago to cut them to the right length. Easier to handle and have them indoors that way

I've stacked them in a room indoors (with heating at 14-15 degrees)

Today when I was out to put up some beadboard on the walls, some boards felt a little damp on the backside. Not wet, but as if they weren't as bone dry as the front side or when they were taken out of the packages.

Is this something to worry about, or will they dry out after I put them up on the walls? Or do you think I'm trapping in some percentage of moisture?

Sorry if this is a neurotic question, but it feels tedious to put them up and then find out I'm doing something wrong and trapping moisture behind the beadboard paneling.

You will not trap any moisture. If they are damp, there is a risk they will shrink as they dry, causing gaps in the paint where the unpainted feather shows through. So save some paint and be prepared to touch up once it has dried.

Thanks... kind of what I thought/hoped. I just got a little worried when they somehow felt super slightly damp on the back (damp is an exaggeration). Anyway, there wasn't any problem assembling them today. So nothing swelled and made them impossible to put together

Sorry if this is a worrisome question, but it would be annoying to put them up only to do something wrong and trap moisture behind the beadboard paneling.

Don't let them dry for too long or they can become warped and more difficult to fit together.
