Hello,

I'm in the process of building a bathroom in the basement. I'm planning to use metal studs against the outer wall and then install waterproof boards over them. I need a brace behind the sink, and it seems pretty stupid to use ordinary wood; I want to keep it free from materials that could mold.

Thus: are there studs made of plastic or similar that can be used behind the board to mount the sink?

But the noggin is behind the shower boards and the moisture barrier. Then it shouldn't mold, right?

Use bathroom silicone in the screw holes and it's fine!

The thread creator is reasonably worried about moisture coming from the outer wall, not from the bathroom.
