I've been renovating half of our basement for a while. I dug out 400mm
100mm gravel capillary breaking layer and 200mm foam insulation, then poured 100mm concrete with underfloor heating.
In the so-called new spa, there are 2 exterior walls and 2 interior walls.
On one of the exterior walls, I've framed with 45mm steel studs, attached 15mm construction plywood and humidboard; on the other, just steel studs and humidboard.
On the interior walls, I've put 15mm construction plywood and humidboard again.
The room will be tiled and floored, so there are no real question marks there.
The only thing I'm pondering about that room is how to handle the waterproofing on the floor.
On the walls, I'm using Weber's Foil system, but the only question is whether I should also lay the foil on the floor or if I should use Weber's Superflex D2. What does someone knowledgeable think about that, considering it's only in the shower area?
The other question is about the 2 interior walls in the hall part of the previous room, which has 1 exterior wall where I will place steel studs and humidboard again. The idea there is to fill and paint that part, but what to do with the interior walls that I would most prefer to wallpaper? There are 45 steel studs and construction plywood on those walls right now. Any ideas?
