I am going to build a new balcony on a 1 1/2 story house. I am planning to use 4 posts attached to 70 cm high pre-cast concrete piers with adjustable brackets. Between the joists, I will attach sheets that slope slightly outward to direct the water out, but I do not know how to collect this?

On the outer wall facing the balcony, I have heard that it is necessary to cover with sheet metal about 30 cm up the wall under the panel. How large sheets can be obtained and what quality should the sheet metal be? I was thinking of installing underlay felt inside the sheet metal and then folding out the sheet metal towards the balcony floor so that the water can then run out onto the sheets placed between the joists. Does this seem like a good solution?

Hello,

Why should you install plates?

I'm also planning to build a "balcony." The idea is to construct a deck along the house (10m) that is about 3.5m wide. Above this, we are thinking of building a "balcony" along the entire house, approximately 10m long, and about 2 - 2.5m wide. On one side, there will be a staircase down. We plan to build it like you would build a deck on treated 95x95 posts on concrete bases.

Does this sound completely crazy?

How many posts do you need?

The sheets in the floor structure are supposed to prevent water from running down onto the stairs under the balcony where I also have an entrance to the house. The sheets 30cm up on the wall are meant to prevent water from penetrating the wall.
