Attic floor over loose fill insulation
My attic currently has only about 2 square meters of walkable space, the rest is covered with loose-fill insulation. Since I would like to store some things up here, I was thinking of nailing some joists to the rafters and laying down tongue and groove boards. Thoughts on this? The floor won't be flush against any wall; it will be like a platform around the attic opening, with the longest continuous span being about 3 meters. The concern is potential condensation, but that shouldn't be a problem, right? Should the joists and boards be treated beforehand? Or is the risk of mold small enough? Are the joists best attached with nails or screws?
Hello and welcome to the forum!
Sounds like a good idea!

No "treatment" needed and screws always hold better than nails

Yes, a good timber yard is worth its weight in gold!
