How do you best attach drywall to a plastered interior wall, there is brick behind the plaster?

The reason I want to put drywall on top of the plaster is that when I tore down the old kitchen and tiles, some "holes and depressions" were left. What should be done before attaching the drywall?

Note! This is in the kitchen, I will then put up a couple of wall cabinets but also mosaic.

Feel free to share tips and ideas.

Either by framing the wall and applying drywall to the studs, or I think some form of tile adhesive would work well, but framing the wall will likely give the best result of the two.

However, I believe the simplest way is to even out the "holes and pits."

Attaching wall cabinets and the like should be done either to a stud or to the underlying brick, depending on the solution you choose, not solely to the drywall.

Good luck!

Unfortunately, a beam is not an option because it builds too much, there's a door on one side to take into account. Otherwise, it probably would have been the best!

I'll have to try to even it out and hope that I hit the bricks.

Fill the holes with gypsum plaster and then also glue the gypsum boards with it. As mentioned, you must attach the cabinets to the brick.

Flexicol is used for gluing floor gypsum but also for gluing gypsum boards on walls.
