I am about to line the inside of an insulated shed with leftover raw plank panels on the walls. Does it work to attach them with long finishing nails, or do I need to secure them with nails/screws?

Isn't it just a matter of trying? You hardly need to buy any new tools; you can use the ones you've used for the raw edge before.

Feel free to use 50mm long Isf

Pull some threads with set glue or equivalent before as well :)

I don't need new tools. And I have tried with brad nails and of course, it works. The question is whether it's a sustainable solution.

Drive with 50 mm dyckert and it holds well. But it's more a question of whether it's sustainable in the long run. But with some glue underneath, it probably works fine (y)

As long as heavy items are not placed only on the raw floorboards, you can go ahead. Use a few more brads if they weigh a lot and use 50mm as the previous member wrote.

Have nailed quite a bit of panel with brads in 1.2x50mm.

They hold, but you can pull them off. Maybe I should add some screws as well.

If you're going to attach things to the walls, go with screws! Something as sturdy as råspontluckor (solid wood panels) tempts you to ignore finding studs when hanging things.

There are four-inch nails, then it stays put properly.

For nail gun, as the question referred to?;)

Place your brads at an angle and overlapping in a cross pattern, and they will hold much better against pulling forces.
