Ah, realized now that the picture is wrong. The corrugated sheet is oriented the other way. I'll see if I can draw it correctly :)
 
I haven't read everything now.

But I myself would have primed with 2 layers of some type of primer for steel. At work, we have 50my as the standard for steel that is to be primed before cladding.

And for the attachment, I would have set 4 m12 rods with hilti hit 70 for brick. On each side of the beam. I cannot comment on the welding as I do not know the total load on the beam.

OK, then I think I finally understand how it should look. The confusion arose because I misunderstood what is up and down on your first picture.

Assuming the beam is properly dimensioned, my only opinion then is the same as you pointed out yourself, that the angle iron should have been welded on the outside of the beam. As it is now, the weld will have to bear the entire load. If the iron was placed on the outside, the only job of the weld joint would be to ensure it doesn't fall apart. I would also have chosen an iron with at least the same material thickness as the beam, but maybe it is?

Yes, it feels like the biggest problem is that the angle irons are on the wrong side (and the one on the side is cut and welded with a single weld seam on the outside). They are also of a smaller dimension than the actual beam.
Is it as strong if I drill and screw instead of welding (if I cut away the current angle irons and attach new ones that are positioned correctly)?

Thank you! My impression is that it's just as good with screws and nuts in this case!
It doesn't need to be so strong if the beam rests on the angle iron.
