Asphalt board + wind barrier?

I'm planning to build my first shed soon and would like to put asphalt board on the outside for wall stabilization (and to better soundproof it).

But I was wondering if it's okay to also put wind barrier over the asphalt board, which would also serve as extra rain protection during the construction period.

How much rain can asphalt board withstand?

Does rain go through wind barrier?

How long can I wait before putting up the paneling?

Now I'm not really sure, but I don't think asfaboard is particularly good for stiffening up the shed.
It's quite a porous and "flimsy" board.

I think it would be better with 9 mm outdoor gypsum instead.
And outdoor gypsum is probably better for sound insulation too.
New types have improved resistance to weather and wind.

The asfaboard has some stiffening capability, but I wouldn't rely on it solely and would also install braces in the frame. Then, asfaboard can withstand rain for a shorter period (e.g., the warm half of the year). Since it's a well-ventilated house, it can dry out once the facade is in place. It's mostly at the edges where it absorbs water. The asphalt-impregnated side resists water.

Wind barrier is not needed if the seams between the asfaboard panels are placed only over the studs.

It's enough with just asfaboard, it withstands weather and wind as well as wind barrier or external gypsum. But as with most other things, you get what you pay for, buy quality and not cheap flimsy boards that are difficult to work with. And as a counterpoint to the prototype, I say asfaboard any day of the week
