Could there be asbestos in the tar adhesive? Or what is this? The house was built in 1962 but the linoleum is said to have been laid later.

  • A hand scraping old linoleum flooring, revealing deteriorated tar adhesive beneath. The context questions possible asbestos presence in the adhesive of a 1962 house.
  • Peeling flooring showing layers of dark adhesive under a beige top surface, possibly tar-based. From a house built in 1962, querying asbestos presence.
  • Close-up of worn flooring with patches and dark spots, possibly tar adhesive. Concern about asbestos in a house built in 1962; linoleum may be installed later.

It's not impossible. Black adhesive is a known source of asbestos.
You can send in samples to find out, for example here: https://www.asbestprover.se/
