Decided to upgrade my old sawhorses that have seen better decades. I've copied and built everything except for the braces. How much do they stabilize the construction? Can you manage without them? I'm not planning to use the sawhorses as a launch ramp for satellites, but I don't want them to collapse in a week either. The old ones are incredibly stable except that they fall apart, how much of that is due to the braces? The question arose when I realized I've never seen braces on purchased sawhorses.

You're probably doing just fine without it. It does look stable. And it's not worse than being able to add strävar at a later stage.
