Aluminum oven door?

Found a place online offering oven doors with custom text for 1500:- and that would be fun... However, I became a bit skeptical when I heard that the material was aluminum.

Are there any obvious disadvantages with aluminum besides it not feeling as solid as good old cast iron? The appearance is reportedly the same... I should add that we actually plan to use the oven infrequently when it's brought out from a 40?-year slumber (anyone have any good recipes?).

A foundry I worked at part-time made such hatches, I prepared the model and placed text on several...

However, I don't think it feels quite "right" probably the surface can't be blackened either but is painted with black paint.....
Wouldn't it be better with a genuine cast iron hatch for that money or is the text important?

No, the text is not important. But it sure would have been fun with an oven door with the house's name. I think I'll go for a regular second-hand cast iron door anyway...
