Time to insulate the exterior walls of my old house.
Today, there's a fiberboard directly on the studs.
The plan is to tear down the fiberboard, insulate with two layers of fiberglass, then OSB+ board. Gypsum feels so damn boring and the advantages regarding fire don't matter at all since the whole house is wood and all interior walls will continue to be constructed with fiberboard.
The idea with the OSB board is, of course, to more easily attach things and to get a slightly more stable wall, but what are the alternatives really? Both for the "2-board construction" and the gypsum board?!

Wallpaper on masonite board?
Wallpaper on chipboard?
Painted plaster?
I prefer gypsum

Polish it won't be.
If I were to use chipboard, might as well skip OSB then? and just go with a thicker chipboard...
What are the advantages of hardboard compared to plasterboard? Tretex is said to create better acoustics and provide some insulation, is it the same with the hardboard?

If you're thinking of only using boards, there isn't any particular advantage of masonite vs plasterboard. Masonite is somewhat like MDF but without synthetic glue.
Tretex is good, but sure, not ideal for nailing. The idea is probably to have grooved boards behind both masonite and tretex.
An alternative to plasterboard is for instance grooved boards, paneling, and plywood. With plywood and molding, you can create paneled walls. Fancy (I think) but tricky with the moldings.
